Let’s be real… it feels like every second of the day we are introduced to a new ingredient or product that will forever change our lives. It gets more and more difficult to filter out the marketing propaganda from the facts. Getting back to earth’s natural remedies is my solution… which brings me to my top 3 go to essential oils!

1. Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
Today, lavender oil is at the top of everyone’s list due to its many healing capabilities. The oil is extracted from the stem of the lavender plant through steam distillation. The healing, soothing, and relaxing benefits of lavender oil make and ideal solution to many common skin concerns.
Therapeutic Properties: Antiseptic, Anti-inflammatory, Antibacterial, Antifungal, Antimicrobial
Skin Types: Acne, Mature, Dry, Oily, Discoloration/Uneven Skin Tone, Sensitive, Elasticity

2. Frankincense Oil (Boswellia carterii)
Absolutely my favorite essential oil thus far. I must admit the aroma took a little getting used to, but adding the essential oil to my skincare products has made a significant difference in my skin. This essential oil is extracted from the tree bark of the Boswellia sacra. Frankincense oil contains natural astringent properties that soothe and protect the skin while reducing acne flare-ups, restoring elasticity/suppleness, and diminishing the appearance of acne scars.
Therapeutic Properties: Anti-inflammatory, Antiseptic, Astringent, Antimicrobial
Skin Types: Acne-prone, Aging, Oily/Combination 

3. Geranium Oil (Pelargonium graveolens)
Like Lavender Oil, Geranium Oil’s natural healing properties covers an array of skin conditions. It is extracted through steam distillation of the geranium plant. Geranium oil has the ability to reduce the appearance of acne scaring and improve the skins overall clarity.
Therapeutic Properties: Antiseptic, Antifungal,  Anti-inflammatory, Antimicrobial,
